The Rehabilitation and Protection Group (RPG) in MSF provides services for the rehabilitation of adult and youth offenders and the protection of children and families. The Clinical and Forensic Psychology Service (CFPS) provides specialized psychological services to children, youth, persons with disability, elderly and families, in the areas of abuse and trauma recovery and forensic mental health. We also evaluate our programmes and services with various stakeholders, as well as external agencies in the social service sector.

The Centre for Evaluation and Implementation Science (CEIS) under CFPS provides evaluation and implementation support for external and internal stakeholders in the rehabilitation and protection sector in Singapore. Besides conducting rigorous evaluation of interventions, systems and policies, CEIS provides implementation consult and support for their successful implementation. We are committed to share our expertise and empower the sector by building competency in evaluation and implementation science, as well as disseminating research and evaluation findings to partners and stakeholders.

Psychologist/Senior Psychologist

We are looking for Psychologists / Senior Psychologists committed to our mission. Depending on organisational needs, your competencies and interests, you will be deployed to one of the teams specialising in the following:

(i) Working with Vulnerable Adults and Elderly

 You will work with vulnerable adults (persons with disability, elderly, etc.) and families by providing psychological assessment and therapy services to clients who may have a history of family violence or trauma, and/or cognitive or mental capacity issues.  You will also be working with clients who may present with abusive behaviour towards a vulnerable adult. You  will have opportunities to provide to provide training and consultation in relevant areas, such as mental capacity or adults with special needs.

(ii) Working with Youth / Adult Offenders (Centre for Forensic Mental Health)

You will work with youth/adult offenders and their families. You will provide psychological assessment and therapy services, as well as conduct training. You will also be expected to provide consultation services in clinical forensic psychology to internal partners in MSF as well external partners such as VWOs, hospitals, and other ministries.

 (iii) Working with Children and Families (Family Systems Specialist Unit)

You will be a family therapist who provides Functional Family Therapy (FFT) to children and their families. FFT training and supervision will be provided. You will provide psychological assessments, conduct training, and provide consultation services to stakeholders within MSF, as well external partners such as VWOs, hospitals and other ministries.

Technical/Functional Competencies required:

  • Minimally a Master’s degree in Clinical or Forensic Psychology
  • At least 3 years of experience in clinical or forensic settings after completion of postgraduate degree is preferred
  • Strong assessment and good report writing skills
  • To work with vulnerable adults and elderly, experience in adult mental health and/or special needs, conducting cognitive assessments for adults and elderly, and providing clinical intervention with adult victims/perpetrators of family violence will be an advantage

Generic Competencies required:

  • Effective interpersonal skills to engage internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • For the Family Systems Specialist Unit role, candidates must be open to learning and applying a new therapeutic model that require them to work with highly disruptive families, as well as non-traditional working hours.

Assistant Director/Senior Manager (Evaluation Unit)

Responsibilities

The primary role of the Assistant Director/Senior Manager (Evaluation Unit) is to provide lead a team of researchers to provide key evaluation support for interventions and services. Key responsibilities include engaging and collaborating with stakeholders to conduct evaluation, guiding and supervising team members in evaluation activities, setting up data collection systems, consulting for partners, as well as dissemination of evaluation findings.

Technical/Functional Competencies required:

  • A Master or Doctoral degree in Psychology
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a related setting after completion of postgraduate degree, including minimally 2 years of leadership and supervisory experience
  • Prior experience in research and/or evaluation roles
  • Good track record with producing peer-reviewed publications
  • Good report-writing skills

  • Proactive and enthusiastic team player
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, creativity, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Senior Implementation Specialist

As an Implementation Specialist, you will be addressing factors that influence the effective implementation of evidence-based intervention programmes and practices. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging and collaborating with stakeholders within implementation teams
  • Integrating knowledge and skills from the different disciplines present in such teams
  • Adapting evidence-based interventions and practices, collecting and using data to inform implementation processes (e.g., through continuous quality improvement mechanisms)
  • Disseminating Implementation Science knowledge and skills to internal stakeholders

Technical/Functional Competencies required:

  • Master’s degree in social-science related disciplines
  • At least 3 years of work experience after completion of Bachelor’s degree in a related setting is preferred. Candidates with experience in organisational development, project management, and/or have basic data management and analytic skills will be at an advantage.
  • Candidates must be open to acquiring and applying knowledge in Implementation Science

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • A creative problem-solver who is able to work in a multidisciplinary team
