JD for Research Lead

We are looking for a researcher who has expertise in early childhood and early intervention, enjoys working with the community and translating research into practice. The candidate will be required to manage and drive research projects to evaluate and enhance the Early Intervention programme at THK EIPIC Centre. The suitable candidate should possess adequate experience in qualitative and quantitative research work and project management skills to lead a small team. He/ she must be able to connect well with early intervention professionals and work in partnership with multiple stakeholders including consultants and government agencies. The candidate should enjoy challenges, be resourceful and manage time well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan and conduct research studies on early intervention
  • Coordinate with different stakeholders to determine research objectives
  • Collaborate with relevant industry stakeholders to drive research topics
  • Set project goals, create action plan and timelines/ Gantt chart, and manage project to completion with the assistance of a Research Assistant and external consultants
  • Design and administer methods and tools for data collection, e.g. conducting interviews and focused group discussions with staff and caregivers, administering surveys and carrying out randomised controlled field tests
  • Conduct field work when required
  • Engage relevant internal departments to facilitate completion of project deliverables
  • Conduct and interpret quantitative data analyses e.g. analysis of trends, child and family outcome data
  • Report project updates on a regular basis and submit key deliverables in a timely manner
  • Communicate research outcomes to management and other stakeholders through reports, papers, presentations and/ or journal publications
  • Guide and mentor junior research staff
  • Uphold standards of confidentiality in line with PDPA regulations in Singapore, professional code of ethics, and organisation policies

Technical Competencies:

  • PhD in Psychology/ Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD)/ Master of Psychology in Educational/ Developmental/ Clinical Psychology or related disciplines from an accredited university
  • Registered psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society, or registered with a recognised psychological professional body
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (spoken and written English)
  • Strong analytical and conceptual abilities
  • Proven project management experience and/ or experience in leading team
  • Experience in early childhood or early intervention research and use of analytical software
  • Experience in publishing conference/ journal papers, please provide sample if any
  • Familiarity with implementation science is desirable
