Nicholas Gabriel Lim is an adolescent psychologist. He has been working with adolescents for two decades. He started his career with vulnerable teenagers in the charity sector, then built his own private practice, which led him into public service, and now he is in academia. Nicholas is widely consulted on various national councils like the Media Literacy Council and National Council for Problem Gambling. Being one of the more prominent professionals in his field, Nicholas was recently recognised and appointed by the President of Singapore to be on the Youth Court Advisory Panel. He is recognised in Singapore as a veteran and expert in youth work, and appointed as a Mentor and Supervisor to promising youth work practitioner and leaders. This is in addition to being a clinical supervisor to budding psychologist wanting to work with youths too. Nicholas is the author of the book “Clash of the Mind and Heart: Playbook for Helping Youths Succeed”, which is the sequel to the widely distributed ebook with the same header, subtitled “Understanding Adolescents”. His book can be found on Amazon and even in all our national libraries. Nicholas has also been widely interviewed about his work by several media like The Straits Times, Channel News Asia, and 938 Live. His recent accomplishment is obtaining his Juris Doctor, which he is really excited about as it compliments his psychology training and practice so intimately. Specialising in Family and Criminal law, he champions for vulnerable youth causes, especially, those who need psychological and legal support. In his free time, he likes a good swim and reading a great book.
