Talk Synopsis:

Work Stress. Is it really the ‘Work’, or our belief in not having control over the ‘Work’ that is stressful? This talk explores, and challenges, our belief of control. How a shift in view or perception is central to our progress in managing stress experience. Dr.Yong Goh uses a series of hands-on activities and interesting stories to illustrate the power of perception in managing work stress. This is done under the backdrop of The Revised Transactional Model (RTM), a brainchild of Dr. Goh's research in stress and coping. Over the past decades, the RTM has been successfully tested across countries in the Asian region including Singapore. Dr. Goh will present the Singapore version of RTM and show how perception of control has an indelible impact on our stress experience.
